Come on you lot, its like hitting a brick wall with a rubber mallet with some people! A DP member going by the tag of Jaboora, (who knows if its his real name, who cares) posted about us setting up our blog and would you believe it, finally someone twigged that we’re all banned members of DP. I wet myself reading these two chestnuts, and just had to quote them here.
first came Einstein, the genius who figured out we’re posting here because we can’t speak our mind on DP coz we’re banned. Note the mastery of the English language, and I’m getting the vibe from this one that he’s kinda liking DP?
“Well just ignore them and it is good to see someone do blogging about DP. DP members know DP is best and no other site is better then DP. Those are may be DP’s Banned peoples who making useless blogs. I wonder if I would see that blog more than 1 year in Active mode.”
then just as I wiped the tears from my now red eyes another beauty posts an equally award winning post.
“Already there was a thread discussing about the dp clone. Just copying the dp in the layout and design alone will not make it popular. They just want to skim some traffic from dp by writing offensive posts about the dp and its mods. Keep your cool and everything will be okay.”
What’s the bets we’ll still be here in a years time, and to let you know why we’re gonna tell you a story about why digital pointless came to being…
Once upon a time there was this bunch of budding entrepreneurs who found a forum called digital point. Glancing at the membership numbers (then in the 10,000’s) it was sure to be ‘the‘ forum to be on, it was a sure fire place for people to make money and perhaps some friends along the way. For a couple of years all was hunky dory with the forum, many a post was made, many a friend was found. Some of us earned more than others but hell, it wasn’t all about that, it was about taking part which counted. Sadly that wasn’t to last, the forum where everyone knew everyone, and everyone pretty much respected everyone started to change for the worse.
A new breed of member came along, people who knew no bounds, and respected nothing more than the color green being the US Dollar. Posts became monotonous and duplicitous, and the use of pm’s became the secret weapon as groups were formed. Reputations of a select band of members quickly grew and was used as weapons to shut up anyone who dared question the infinite wisdom of the ‘established member’. (I have to confess to being one of those with 9 green blobs so was a ‘power tripper’ but never felt the need to abuse this. Others did though and and it made many of us cringe as we watched the noob (Newcomer) get crucified by the ‘elite’ for daring to step out of line.
If anyone dared speak their minds, chose something they weren’t supposed to choose, buy from someone they weren’t supposed to buy from and so on that was it, they were quickly the victims of cyberspace-bullying. Where once you’d feel comfort in the fact that a moderator was at hand to sort things out if things started to get out of hand, even this changed, it was as if they were showing favoritism, or, if you believe many of the rumors, there was even the odd piece of silver greasing the palms of the moderators as member by member got banned inexplicably and without redress.
Anonymity prevented an ‘appeal’ to the moderator, and even if you managed to get through to one you’d invariably be met with the excuse, ‘I never banned you and I can’t force the mod who did ban you to overturn his decision’. Power became addictive to the moderators and many, (not all) started to abuse that power by banning anyone they felt like and for no reason other than the fact they could. Or again you can go for the grand conspiracy theory that a few were getting a few greenbacks thrown their way for ‘doing a favor’ by banning the nuisance poster.

You have to see me to ban me!
Now I’m going to confess that unlike my other co-founders of Digital Pointless I’m actually still a member of DP and haven’t been banned; and as much as this is going to come as a surprise to those in DP land they just haven’t got a clue who I am and probably never will. So why am I part of Digital Pointless? Well that’s obvious ins’t it? I could never post what I wanted to without facing the inevitable ban, one word in the wrong direction and I’m out no matter how many thousands of posts and green reps I have. Why? Because unlike the new breed of idiot that post at DP I won’t kiss the ass of the moderator, nor will I condemn for the sake of condemning.
I’m staying at DP as long as I humanly can and to be honest it’s quite funny seeing the obvious panic where everyone seems to be getting banned just for farting these days. They claim they’re trying to clean the place up and put in ‘rules’ to help better moderate the place. A bit like closing the stable after the horse has bolted its too late, Digital Point is quickly losing any credibility it had, and with the continued tide of like-minded new-breeds coming in chasing the fast buck its become a place of farce.
So, the story goes on…
As long as DP remains in the fashion it does so will blogs like this that are nothing more than fact based platforms for people who wanted to voice their opinion can do so without the fear of getting banned or red-repped by their peers. This place isn’t for flaming, it wasn’t set up to deliberately and maliciously attack DP for the sake of it, the reason this place was set up was to stand up to the faceless idiots on DP who’ve turned what could have been a good platform for all levels into a jungle where you just don’t know when or who is going to ambush you.
Here we’ll post nothing we can’t back up, we’ll post facts, we’ll post things you might not want to hear, but that won’t stop us, we’re determined to give the goderators, madministrators, and outright asshole members a taste of their own medicine. We’re going to make them victims of their own circumstance and won’t be holding back. The bullied are fighting back and this is the neutral territory where its going to take place. We’ll be posting every day, and unlike the chestnut above suggested, we’re not going anywhere and you just never know who we’ll pick on so reading this every day might just be a good idea because it just might be you.
Remember you got to catch me to ban me.
